We started out our custom cabinets by using a laser level to square a liner for the edges of where the custom cabinets hit the back splash. In this project article we’re going to make a storage cabinet with pocket hole joinery. Pocket hole joinery can be crucial to creating the cutting edge custom cabinets. There are other more complex methods that you can use but I have found that those ways are to much of a hassle for what you get out of them and if you make your measurements out correctly then you they will still look like premium custom cabinets if you know how to go about it. The whole build started off with a few pieces of one by pine boards. First I marked out and cut the pieces I would need for each shelf for these custom cabinets there are eight seven actual shelves in the top sectional area. After I had the proper length cut for each one I headed over to the table saw and ripped each piece down ¼ of an inch shorter than each of the sides would be to allow for the back panel later on. Using a circular saw I cut off the side of each board that would be the side to bring it down to the dimension I wanted. I also cut them to length on the miter saw. Once I had everything cut for the shell of the custom cabinets I started the task of drilling all of the pocket holes.
