The cabinet maker is going to do an inset doors on these particular custom cabinets today. That is when the doors sit inward on the inner sections of the wood kitchen cabinets and they use them as drawer fronts. So what I am going to do is start with the base of the kitchen cabinets. I’m going to lay out the door and the drawer front will link them together. The first thing I need to do is put a steady square edge flush with the wood because when I glue the doors up and deal with a little over-sized because I know I’m going to have to come over here later so it’s best to set myself up for success later on by making the proper preparation for myself the cabinet maker. After I square up the sides I’ll trim it up to allow it to flow as one whole piece. I am able to fit the door inside the face frame of the custom cabinets but as you can probably see there’s hardly any gap all the way around the custom cabinets. The inset cabinetry is the next topic. What a cabinet maker wants to do three thirty-seconds of an inch gap all the way around the kitchen cabinets. Which ironically is about the thickness of these hinges that we use right here on the custom cabinets in specifically kitchens. This is particularly something that good cabinet makers do when they are constructing their custom cabinets for their customers home.
