Alder Custom Cabinets Katy, TX
Now I am going to explain how do to my internal cuts for my sinks to eventually serve as a part of the custom cabinets. This island is made from a different island then the curved island. This one is attached to the custom cabinets in the middle. This island is going to have a sink in the middle of the custom cabinets. For a visual I am going to clamp the custom cabinets together. When I have each department of my custom cabinets built I prefer to put the whole custom cabinets on a four wheeled dolly so I can roll it around the shop without any trouble. So first I am going to make the curves that connect the custom cabinets. To do that I have to make my inside curve first then I am going to make my outside curve. I am going to put them together to make the whole curve. I start off which 2”6 material. What I do is laminate all of my ¾ inch stock. But first what I am going to do is cut the curve using a table saw. What I have to do is put my blade in that I use for cutting molding which is what I prefer in my custom cabinets. When I am cutting using a molding blade I don’t cut in the same direction as I cut on a regular table saw I go in a lateral direction. If I wanted a smaller circle all I would have to do is run it diagonal. For these custom cabinets I want a bigger circle.  What I do to create a professional cut and part of what makes my custom cabinets so great is I make a straight line. How I make a straight line is I use a fence to hold my bored in place. To make sure my boards are strait I use my miter gauge and clamp the bored I am using for my fence to my miter gauge. When I am cutting each bored I cut little by little not all at the same time or that will chip. I repeat this process until I am past the first stock. After I complete the installation of the kitchen custom cabinets I install the handles in a symmetrical pattern.
