To make this description of custom cabinets interesting I have included dowel joint and pocket screws which are kind of common as you’ve read in preceding article on custom cabinets. Pocket screws and dowel joints are cheap knockoffs of the mortise and tenon which is also explained in the read. They’re cheap substitutes that you would find in mass-produced custom cabinets. We are going to start off with the pocket screws between sixty. I think it’s going to grit so I am going to stand for this mix of custom cabinets. That’s when I get started putting the custom cabinets together. So here what I have done is I have rough cut the initial size of the face frame of my custom cabinets. On top there is two pieces that are called rails they go horizontal. And then the vertical pieces on the custom cabinets are called styles. What we’re going to start with cutting a tenon on the edge of my custom cabinets and that’s what’s going to slide into the mortise of my custom cabinets in this style. To get started on this section of our custom cabinets I am going to start with the tenon. What I have done is I’ve drawn lines an inch back from the edge of both sides of the custom cabinets and I’ve marked out the blot on the edge and it is going to be a blind tenon for us to start with in configuring the custom cabinets today.
