The way we used to go about squaring the custom cabinets instead of directly squaring out the corners of the back panels is we would actually rabbet the two sides and then put this nailer strip and the rear toe kick plate end up and the bottom inset a full quarter inch and just lay the back of the custom cabinets right over it so the back just covers the whole bowl of the custom cabinets. What I like about this is that you don’t even have to cut these styles you just cut the piece of plywood in just radius the corner so it’s another way of going about it there we have seen two or three here since we have started these custom cabinets. I am not going to put the back side of the custom cabinets yet since we really want to be able to get inside the inner sections of the custom cabinets and stain them and later finish them. It will make all of those steps much easier than if we did the oppositely. These calls sort of keep this face frame of the custom cabinets down to the sides until the glue sets. There is a slight crown to the custom cabinets so when we pull them down we know we’ve got pressure in the middle of the custom cabinets. They look really spectacular just looking at them right here in front of me in my shop and in the next article I’ll go on the following steps for the custom cabinets.
